Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is set to launch a unique ‘Sustha Nari, Sashakta Parivaar’ campaign on Wednesday, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
The initiative, announced by Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling, aims to empower families by prioritizing women’s health across the state.
To be undertaken from September 17 to October 2, the campaign will include over 29,000 health screenings and more than 3,000 health camps. The focus will be on detecting and addressing issues such as various forms of cancer, menstrual health disorders, and malnutrition among women.
An important feature of the campaign is the creation of a comprehensive digital database to track screening outcomes and ensure follow-up care. The government plans to use this data to strengthen preventive healthcare and policy planning.
Notably, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the campaign from Madhya Pradesh, marking a nationwide rollout of the initiative. Odisha’s initiative demonstrates its commitment to improving women’s health and building stronger, healthier families.
