Bhubaneswar, Feb 25: The Odisha government has decided to open seven more Aahaar Kendras this year, Housing and Urban Development Minister Pratap Jena informed the Assembly on Tuesday.
The minister said this in reply to a question by Congress MLA Narasingha Mishra.
At present, there are 158 Aahaar Kendras functioning in Odisha, Jena said.
For operating these Aahaar Kendras, the state government has spent Rs 166.71 crore between 2015-16 and 2018-19 while Rs 47.70 crore has been spent during 2019-20 till date, he added.
The state government had launched the subsidised Aahaar scheme on April 1, 2015.
