Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will decide on whether to reduce the penalty for traffic violations after a review, principal secretary, Commerce and Transport, G Srinivas said on Wednesday.
The secretary said this when asked if the state government will follow its Gujarat counterpart’s example to reduce traffic fines.
Talking to the media after a surprise visit to the Regional Transport Office (RTO)-I in the city, Srinivas said additional counters will be opened on RTO premises to enable people to get the relevant documents for their vehicle within three months. “Even the office staffs are working late night,” he added.
