Bhubaneswar: At least 65 new civil judges (junior division)-cum-judicial magistrate first class (JMFC) courts will be set up across the state.
The move comes after Orissa High Court special officer (admin) Basudev Acharya wrote a letter in this regard to the district and sessions judges of 23 districts.
The courts are being set up at Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Bhadrak, Koraput, Puri, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Balasore, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Jajpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Khurda, Angul, Mayurbhanj, Cuttack, Balangir, Jagatsinghpur, Nabarangpur, Kendrapada and Sambalpur.
Keonjhar: Telkoi, Hatadihi, Barbil, Ghatagaon and Harichandanpur.
Sundargarh: Koida, Biramitrapur, Lahunipada, Bargaon, Lephripara, and Hemgiri in Sundargarh.
Bhadrak: Bonth
Koraput: Nandapur, Narayanpatna and Boipariguda.
Puri: Krushnaprasad, Kakatpur, Kanasa and Astarang.
Rayagada: Chandrapur, Muniguda and Padampur.
Malkangiri: Mathili and Kudumuluguma.
Balasore: Oupada and Khaira
Nayagarh: Gania
Ganjam: Belguntha, Jagannathprasad and Polsara
Jajpur: Baripal, Binjharpur and Sukinda.
Bargarh: Gaisilet, Paikamala and Bijepur.
Jharsuguda: Lakhanpur, Laikera and Kirimira.
Kalahandi: Golamunda, Thuamulrampur, Kariamunda and Lanjigarh.
Kandhamal : Tumudibandh, Raikia and Chakapad.
Khurda: Balianta, Bolagarh, Balipatna and Chilika
Angul: Banarpal and Kishorenagar.
Mayurbhanj : Jashipur, Rasagovindapur and Thakurmunda.
Cuttack: Nischintakoili, Dampara, and Mahanga.
Bolangir: Bangomunda.
Jagatsinghpur: Erasama.
Nabarangpur: Kosagumuda and Jharigaon.
Kendrapara: Rajkanika.
Sambalpur: Rengali.
District judges have been asked to report on the infrastructure currently available for the opening of the presiding officers’ chambers.
