Odisha Train Accident Toll Mounts To 292 As Another Injured Passenger Succumbs At SCBMCH
Cuttack: The toll in the horrific triple train crash in Odisha’s Bahanaga Bazar station rose to 292 after another injured passenger died while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on Sunday.
Sources said a man from West Bengal, who was undergoing treatment at the Central ICU of SCB Medical College and Hospital, succumbed to his injuries.
The deceased has been identified as Paltu Naskar, who hailed from South 24 Parganas in West Bengal.
Paltu, who was injured in the deadly accident on June 2, was received at the SCBMCH in a critical condition. While undergoing treatment, he breathed his last today.
With this, the number of deaths of injured at the SCBMCH has gone up to four. Three injured passengers, who hailed from Bihar, had succumbed earlier.
As per reports, a total of 45 passengers, who sustained injuries in the train crash, are undergoing treatment at the SCBMCH.
It may be noted here that the three-way accident involving Chennai-bound Coromandel Express from Shalimar, Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express and a stationary goods train on June 2 had earlier claimed the lives of 288 people and left over 1100 injured. Subsequently, the toll four injured passengers died while undergoing treatment at SCBMCH.
