Odisha Train Crash: Dharmendra Thanks Locals, Govt Agencies For Prompt Action
Balasore: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday launded the work done by social activists and local people and administration for their role in the rescue operation after the triple train mishap in Odisha’s Balasore district.
Dharmendra, who visited the mishap site to take stock of the situation and the hospital to know about the condition of the injured, thanked the agencies of both Central and state governments who rescued people from the train mishap site at Bahanaga.
The Education Minister, who visited the district headquarters hospital (DHH) in Balasore and met the injured persons, said cooperation from all is required for the rescue and safety of accident victims.
Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also visited Bahanaga.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also set to arrrive at the mishap site shortly to take stock of the situation.
“I thank all social volunteers, the local administration, and various agencies of the Government of India and the State Government who have worked overnight and saved lives. I also thank volunteers who have come forward to donate blood for the injured,” Dharmendra said.
Stating that the Union government has already announced ex-gratia, Pradhan said the Railways Minister has been looking into different aspects like rescue operations and treatment facilities.
