Students of state universities in Odisha no longer have to make rounds of the departments or the administrative block to get their certificates and mark sheets.
The State government is finalising a proposal under which mark sheet, degree certificates, provisional pass certificates, migration certifications and duplicate mark sheets will be issued online by the respective universities from the next academic session.
According to media reports, the Higher Education Department is coordinating with the Centre for Modernising Government Initiative (GMCI) under the GA department to roll out the online service.
A greater share of the administrative work of a university, as a matter of fact, is set to go digital. This would also include the renewal of the affiliation process to the colleges.
Sources in the higher education exuded confidence that online services will become a reality from the next academic session.
Besides admission process, the report said PhD thesis exam will also be conducted online.
