Odisha Vigilance Arrests Forest Range Officer Found With Five Buildings & 9 Plots

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials arrested Antarjyami Sahu, Forest Range Officer of Kashipur Forest Range in Rayagada district, for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

A Vigilance statement said on Saturday that Sahu was found to have amassed wealth worth crores, including immovable properties and investments that he failed to account for satisfactorily.

During raids, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets including five buildings, nine valuable plots, gold 263 grams, deposits approximately Rs 28 lakhs in banks, post offices, and insurance policies.

The Vigilance sleuths conducted simultaneous raids at nine locations across Kandhamal, Ganjam, Nayagarh, and Rayagada districts.

A case has been registered against Sahu, and he will be forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore, for further proceedings. Investigation is in progress.
