Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested Fanindra Kumar Sahu, former Managing Director of Jamankira Large-sized Agricultural Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society (LAMPCS) Ltd in Sambalpur for allegedly misappropriating over Rs 79 lakh.
A Vigilance press release said that the arrest follows an investigation into the financial discrepancies of the 2021-22 fiscal year, where a total of Rs 79,28,000 was allegedly misappropriated by Sahu.
Sahu allegedly collected loan repayment amounts directly from local farmers but intentionally omitted these entries from the Day Book (the primary accounting record). To hide the missing funds, he reportedly submitted false repayment vouchers to the SDCC Bank (Sambalpur District Cooperative Central Bank), Jamankira Branch. These documents were bolstered by fake seals to mimic official bank verification.
In this connection, Vigilance has registered a case against Sahu and investigation is in progress.
