Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Thursday arrested Gaya Santara, Joint Manager, IDCOL, Ampa Valli Lime Stone Mines, Simagoda (Koraput), for possession of disproportionate assets worth over Rs 10 crore.
During the search, the following movable and immovable assets were unearthed in the name of Santara and his family members:
1) Three-storey building located over plot No. 63/A, Sector-A, Zone-D at Mancheswar Industrial Estate in Bhubaneswar.
2) Four-storey building (under construction) located over plot No. 295/2315 at Jaydev Vihar in Bhubaneswar.
3) 13 plots as per land records of the government, including seven plots in prime areas of Bhubaneswar, five plots in Jajpur, and a plot in Nayagarh.
4) Bank deposits worth Rs 4.44 Crores.
5) Cash Rs.1,06,44,500
6) Gold – 1.96 Kg and silver – 7.5 kg.
7) 2 four-wheelers and 4 two-wheelers
Santara could not account for the disproportionate assets to his known sources of income satisfactorily. A case was registered against him and his spouse under Sections 13(2) r/w 13 (1)(b)/12 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act 2018, an official release said.
