Odisha Vigilance Unearths 6 Multi-Storey Buildings, 5 Plots During Raids on Irrigation Asst Engineer

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday unearthed a four-storey palatial building worth Rs 2,4 crore among 6 multi-storey structures, five high-value plots, deposits worth Rs 11.5 lakh during  raids on Prasanna Kumar Swain, Irrigation Division Assistant Engineer at Bhanjanagar in Ganjam, for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Vigilance said in a statement that house searches are being conducted by teams led by seven DSPs, five inspectors/ASIs, and other supporting staff at nine places on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Berhampur.

Assets unearthed so far in the name of Swain and his family members are as follows:

1. One four-storey building over 9000 sqft area worth Rs 2.4 crore at Tulsinagar, Berhampur.

2. Another four-storey residential building over 6000 sqft area at Bagdevi Road, Bhejiput road, Bhanjanagar.

3. One triple-storey building over 3000 sqft area at Bagdevi road, Bhejiput, Bhanjanagar.

4. Another triple-storey building over 2500 sqft area located at Bhanajanagar.

5. Double-storey under construction building over 5850 sqft area at Word No.6 NAC, Bhanjanagar.

6. Double-storey paternal house spread over 1130 sqft area at Luduludi under Bhanjanagar PS, Ganjam.

7. Five high-value home stead plots (1 in Berhampur and 4 in and around Bhanjanagar).

8. 2 two-wheelers

The measurement and valuation/assessment of the buildings/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing. Bank deposits and other investments are also being ascertained, it said.

Searches are underway at the following places:

1. Triple-storey residential building located at Bagdevi Road , Bhejiput road, Bhanjanagar.

2. Four-storey building at Tulsinagar of Berhampur.

3. Triple-storey building at Bagdevi road, Bhejiput, Bhanjanagar.

4. Double-storey under construction building at Word no. 6 NAC Bhanjanagar.

5. Triple-storey building located at Bhanajanagar.

6. Relative ‘s house at Raghunath Vihar, Bhanjanagar.

7. House of his cousin at Bagdevi road, Bhanjanagar.

8. Office Chamber of Sri Prasannna Kumar Swain at Bhanjanagar.

9. Single storeyed parental house at Luduludi under Bhanjanagar P.S, Dist-Ganjam.
