Bhubaneswar: Wednesday saw the highest spike in coronavirus patients in Odisha with 28 persons, 17 alone from Ganjam, testing positive for the virus, taking the affected tally to 205.
With this, Ganjam (21) now has the second highest active COVID cases in the state after Jajpur (54).
COVID also spread its tentacles to two new districts – Mayurbhanj and Jagatsinghpur, where three and four cases were detected respectively.
The virus has claimed two lives in the state so far while 61 have been fully cured of the disease.
