Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 500 on Tuesday as 487 people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours. The state had recorded 652 cases the previous day.
According to the I&PR Department, 285 cases are from quarantine and 202 from local contacts. Among them, 82 are in the 0-18 years age group.

It is pertinent to mention that with these cases being detected from 15,219 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 3.19%. Odisha now has 5,549 active cases.
The state also confirmed two more deaths due to COVID, taking the toll in the fourth wave to 20.
The Health Department identified the deceased as an 80-years-old man of Bhubaneswar, who was also suffering from diabetes mellitus & hypertension, and a 45-years-old woman of Sundargarh.
