Odisha’s Amit Rohidas In India Hockey Team For 4-Nation Series In South Africa
Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Amit Rohidas has found a place in the the 26-member squad announced by Hockey India for a four-nation series in Cape Town, South Africa, starting January 22.
Rohidas is regarded as one of the best first rushers in the Indian hockey team. He has over 160 international caps and more than 25 international goals despite playing as a specialist defender. Rohidas was the Indian vice-captain at the FIH Hockey World Cup 2023 and also helped the team win the gold medal at the Asian Games in Hangzhou later in the same year.
The four-nation series feature India, France, the Netherlands and hosts South Africa. The Indian team will be led by Harmanpreet Singh with FIH Player of the Year winner Hardik Singh as the Vice Captain. Youngsters Araijeet Singh Hundal and Boby Singh Dhami have also been included in the squad following an impressive outing with the junior Indian side.
