Bhubaneswar: Amita Panda was accorded a grand reception at Bhubaneswar airport as she returned home with the Mrs Universe 2019 crown.
She made it to the pageant held in China after winning the Mrs Central Pacific Asia Universe title in New Delhi in April 2019. “I had been preparing myself for the title for the last one year. My husband and family have been very supportive,” said Amita.
She competed with 90 other contestants to win the title and was crowned by Mrs Universe Julia Gershun of Monaco, who held the title.
A software professional, Amita had earlier won the titles of Mrs India Galaxy 2018 and Mrs Social Icon 2018.
A fitness freak, music lover and fashion enthusiast, she is married to a doctor for the last eight years and is a mother of a three-year-old girl.
“The Mrs Universe title will help me devote more time to serve people,” said Amita, who is already into social work.
