Bhubaneswar: President of Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Naveen Patnaik on Thursday appointed Attabira MLA Snehangini Chhuria as president of the Biju Mahila Janata Dal (BMJD), the women wing of the party.
Chhuria replaced Minati Behera as the president of the BMJD with immediate effect, according to a release of the BJD.

Chhuria was elected from Attabira constituency in Bargarh for the first time in 2014. She was again elected from the same constituency in 2019 general election.
The legislator, who was the minister of Textiles, Handloom and Handicrafts during the last term of BJD government, had started her career as a teacher in Adagoan Girl’s High School in 1995 and later joined BJD.
