Kendrapada: In view of the annual census of saltwater crocodiles, Bhitarkanika National park will remain out of bounds for tourists for 10 days, starting January 2.
A senior forest officer of Rajnagar Yajnadatta Pati said that the restriction will help prevent noise pollution and any kind of human interference at a time when the meticulous operation was on.
The headcount drive of the endangered estuarine crocodiles will be carried out in the water bodies inside and outside the national park under the leadership of Dr Sudhakar Kar. During this period ending January 11, no tourist will be allowed to enter the national park.
The park will reopen from January 12.
