Odisha’s COVID-19 Fatality Rate Third Lowest In The Country
Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha soared to 637 in Odisha on Monday with 11 more patients succumbing to the infection in the last 24 hours.
The virus has so far claimed 213 lives in Ganjam district, followed by 94 in Khurda, 51 in Cuttack, 38 in Sundargarh, 33 in Rayagada, 25 in Puri, 17 in Nayagarh and 18 in Gajapati, 16 in Sambalpur and Kandhamal, 15 in Balasore, 12 in Balangir, 11 in Mayurbhanj, 10 in Bhadrak, nine in Bargarh, eight each in Keonjhar and Malkangiri, seven each in Koraput and Jajpur, six in Jagatsinghpur, five in Kalahandi, four each in Angul and Sonepur, three in Kendrapada, two each Dhenkanal and Nabarangpur and one in Jharsuguda.
According to the Health Ministry, the state now has the third-lowest case fatality rate of 0.42 per cent in the country after Assam (0.32 per cent) and Kerala (0.40 per cent).
While the total infections have mounted to 155005, 118642 patients have so far recovered in the state.
Despite a good recovery rate of 76.5 per cent, Odisha does not figure in the top 10 states. Andaman and Nicobar Islands tops the list with 90.94 per cent, followed by Bihar (90.3 per cent) and Daman and Diu (89.69 per cent).
