Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Dipsan Tirkey played his part to perfection as India thumped Malaysia 10-4 on Saturday to set up a title showdown with Pakistan in the inaugural Men’s Hockey 5s Asia Cup at Oman’s Salalah.
The 24-year-old from Sundargarh kept at bay the Malaysian attackers and also scored a goal to be adjudged Player of the Match.
Dipsan apart, Mohammed Raheel netted 4 goals, while Maninder Singh, Pawan Rajbhar, Sukhvinder, Jugraj Singh and Gurjot Singh also scored one apiece.
In the first semifinal earlier today, Pakistan overcame hosts defeating Oman 7-3.
The traditional hockey rivals will face off for the top prize on Sunday.
In their pool stage clash, Pakistan pipped India 5-4.
