Berhampur: Bolstering the infrastructure of COVID-19 treatment further, as many as 104 ambulances were dedicated to the people of Ganjam district on Monday. Twenty-two more ambulances will be provided in the second phase.
The COVID-19 Ambulance Monitoring Cell was launched at the office of RTO Ganjam, Chatrapur. The helpline for the ambulance service is 06811-263774 and will be open 24×7.
Every ambulance is equipped with an oxygen cylinder and there is a well-maintained partition between the driver’s cabin and the patient’s area.
Inaugurating the service, Ganjam district Collector Vijay Amrit Kulange said those with COVID-19 symptoms can call for ambulance support.
Four ambulances have been deployed in each block, 4 in Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC), 9 allocated to Tata COVID Hospital Sitalapalli and MKCG Medical College and Hospital, while 3 will be used to carry dead bodies.
