Odisha’s Khurda-Balangir Rly Project: Trial Run Of Train To New Station Conducted In Sonepur

Sonepur: The much awaited Khurda-Balangir railway line in Odisha moved a step ahead with trial run of a train between two stations in Subarnapur district.

According to sources, the project work from Balangir had been completed upto Jhartarbha railway station. The trial run of a train had also been conducted upto Jhartarbha last month.

The project further progressed with railway tracks laid from Jhartarbha to Khambeswaripali. On Thursday, MK Choudhury, PCMD, South Eastern Railway inspected the trial run of the train from Jhartarbha to Khambeswaripali.

It may be noted that the broad gauge rail line of around 10.65 km between Bichhupali and Jhartarbha of the project was commissioned on November 13 last year.

The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) had given its content after inspecting the new rail line on November 10 and declared the 289-km rail line of the project as fit for commissioning. So far, 115.65 km of rail line work of the total project has been commissioned.
