Bhubaneswar: Madhusmita Jena is all set to make Odisha proud in Mrs India Worldwide 2021, which is scheduled to be held in Dubai.
She made it to the finals of the beauty pageant following a contest among 27 participants at a hotel in Bhubaneswar on April 4.
“I will give my 100 per cent. Preparations for the finale are on and I am hopeful of bringing this year’s crown to the state,” said Madhushmita.
“This platform recognises exemplary strength and distinctive personality of wives and mothers of India. So, the contest was judged not only on physical appearance but also on IQ levels, spontaneity, fitness, and overall smartness,” she said.
Though Madhusmita was born in Jajpur, she completed her schooling in Bhubaneswar.
She is now working as an IT professional at an MNC in Bengaluru.
“I want to break the myth that marriage throws a spanner in a girl’s right to dream. Dream big and work hard to fulfil it,” said the Mrs India Worldwide 2021 finalist.
“Though I always wanted to walk down the ramp, I started modeling during my engineering days at Bhadrak Institute of Engineering & Technology (BIET),” she added.
It was during that period that she came in contact with fashion designer and founder of Ramuli Creation, Ramakishna Pattnaik. “He has been a mentor to me,” said Madhusmita.
She was also a finalist at the Opera Mrs India Global 2020 and won the title of Mrs Ramp Walk recently.
Madhusmita further said that her family has been very supportive of her dreams and decisions to pursue them.
She is also a professional Odissi dancer. “I want to join the Ollywood,” she said before signing off.
