Malkangiri: The south Odisha district of Malkangiri reported its first COVID-19 death and 34 new cases in the last 24 hours.
District collector Manish Agarwal, via a tweet, said that the 51-year-old man having severe acute respiratory illness with a history of hypotension has died while undergoing treatment at a COVID Hospital in the district.
Of the new cases, 13 have been reported from Malkangiri Municipality, 14 from Balimela NAC, 3 from Mathili block and 4 from Malkangiri block.
The district has so far reported 430 positive cases. With one death and 264 recoveries, the number of active cases stands at 166.
