Odisha’s Mo College Abhijan Hosts Talk On Job Skills In Era of AI & Automation

Bhubaneswar: Mo College Abhijan, a flagship initiative of the Odisha government, organised a motivational talk to enhance students’ career by highlighting the importance of new skills needed for jobs in sectors like artificial intelligence and automation.

The programme on `Skill Required for Future Jobs in The Age of AI & Automation’, was held in hybrid mode in association with ‘Bhubaneswar Round Table’ at the O-HUB on Monday.

The esteemed guests at the talk included Mo College Abhijan Chairperson Akash Dasnayak, while Kolkata Ventures MD Avelo Roy was the key speaker.

Chairman of Round Table 230 Ananda Poddar, Member National Council and Odisha State Convenor of Indian Medical Association Junior Doctors Network Abhijit Upadhay and MCAPS Governing Body Member Tanmay Swain were also present.

Dasnayak, in his inaugural address, said the Mo College Abhijan is a unique initiative of the Odisha government connecting the Alumni to their Alma Mater.

“Mo College enhances the students’ career through Intellectual contribution and such motivational talks can definitely ignite their minds for bigger and better career choices,” he said.

Key speaker Avelo Roy shed light on the key techniques of start-ups and how one needs to know about automation age and jobs of the future.

Roy said before becoming successful one needs to inculcate some skills like oral and written communication, coding, design, project management, digital marketing and data analytics, interpersonal skills, languages, social media, passion and potential. All these skills will lead to success, he added.

Around 300 students from various institutes had an interactive question-answer session with Roy about automation age and jobs of the future. More than 100 colleges and their students joined the talk online.

Mo College Abhijan is a flagship initiative of the state government under the vision of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik which provides a lively platform for the overall development of colleges and universities in the state.
