Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Monday appointed Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Sanath Kumar N as the Director of Nandankanan Biological Park.
The 2012-batch IFS officer, who was serving as Deputy Director of Nandankanan, will replace Manoj V Nair, the official notification issued by the Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department read.
Nair, a 2001-batch IFS officer, has been posted as Member Secretary of Odisha State Pollution Control Board (OSPCB). He will continue to hold additional charge as Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife).
Additionally, IFS officer of 2001-batch G Rajesh, who is currently serving as CEO of the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) with additional charge of Chief Conservator of Forests (Project Planning & Afforestation), has been allowed to hold additional charge as Project Director of the Odisha Forestry Sector Development Society (OFSDS) at Ghatikia in Bhubaneswar.
This notification comes two days after senior IFS officer K Murugesan was appointed as the principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force (HoFF) in Odisha, following retirement of incumbent Suresh Pant. The 1994 batch officer served as director environment and member secretary of OSPCB for over four years and was also the chief executive of Regional Plant Resource Centre (RPRC), Bhubaneswar.
