Dubai: Odisha’s champion para shuttler Pramod Bhagat added yet another feather to his glittering cap on Sunday.
The 33-year-old Pramod won the men’s SL3 singles gold medal at the 4th Fazza Dubai Para Badminton International, beating fellow-Indian Nitesh Kumar in a fiercely-contested final.
The World and Paralympic champion dropped the first game, which could have gone either way. But then the experienced Padma Shri awardee gradually took control and eventually came through 19-21, 21-17, 21-17.
