Puri: In a bid to win the confidence of people in police, district SP Kanwar Vishal Singh on Sunday launched a 24×7 call centre number to address their grievances.
The 5T call centre number 7653891930 is also available on WhatsApp. One can call on the number or send message.
Any grievance lodged through WhatsApp on the number will be responded to and complainant contacted as soon as possible. The grievances will be communicated to the SP within 24 hours for necessary steps, said a police department official.
A reception centre has also been opened in DPO, Puri where female staff will be on duty from 10 am to 6 pm. DSP HRPC Manobrata Satpathy will act as nodal officer for grievance redressal.
She will be assisted by Inspector HRPC who will act as first responder to the grievances coming to DPO or lodged at 5T call centre number.
Puri police drew flak recently over alleged two custodial deaths that led to the transfer of its SP and posting of Kanwar Vishal Singh.
