Bhubaneswar: Governor and Chancellor of Universities Ganeshi Lal has appointed Prof Bidhu Bhusan Mishra as the new Vice-Chancellor of Sambalpur University in Odisha for a period of four years.
An alumnus of IIM-Ahmedabad, Mishra retired as Professor, Department of Business Administration, Utkal University on April 30, 2022. He served as a Lecturer of Business Administration at Berhampur University before joining Utkal University. He has authored nine books and contributed 122 articles to reputed journals. He has also successfully guided one DLitt, 39 PhD and three MPhil scholars.
Notably, his predecessor Sanjiv Mittal resigned on August 28, 2022, following allegations of parking of funds to the tune of Rs 29 lakh sanctioned for the university under a government scheme in his personal account. The notification issued by the office of the Chancellor had then said that Chairman PG Council of Sambalpur University would continue as the in-charge vice-chancellor till a regular appointment was made.
