Bhubaneswar: The results of JEE Mains January 2019 examination declared on Saturday has given Odisha a reason to cheer.
Sambit Behera is among 14 other students to clinch top spot with 100 percentile each. The 17-year-old had opted for Kota in Rajasthan as centre of his examination since he was preparing for IIT JEE there for the last couple of years.
Speaking to a national daily, Sambit attributed his success to regular studies and daily practice of the study exercises. “I studied for six hours daily and focussed on maintaining regularity in studies rather than following fixed routine,” he told the Hindustan Times.
Daily doubt clearing, notes revision and analysis of old test papers of coaching institutes and JEE Mains helped him score high in the exam, he added.
Sambit likes to play and watch football and movies. He will appear for Class XII exam later this year.
His father Chandramani Behera is a manager in SBI in Koraput and mother, an ophthalmologist. His elder sister is studying at NIT, Rourkela.
