Bhubaneswar: Vice-President of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), Saswati Das, has been bestowed with the ‘Femina Achievers East’ honour for 2024.
Das was presented the ‘Excellence in Inspirational Leadership Award’ at a program organised by ‘Femina’, the oldest women’s English magazine, in Kolkata on earlier in the week.
Dr Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner to East and North East India and Nicolas Facino, Director, Alliance Francaise du Bengale presented the award to SOA’s Public Relations Officer Subhadarshini Mishra who accepted it on behalf of Das.
The event was organised to recognize and honour women who have been working to bring about a positive change in society.
Das has been inspiring students of SOA Deemed to be University to step forward and work for the less privileged section of children in society by educating them. ‘Jaago’, an organization functioning in SOA, has been attracting a large number of its students who are utilising their spare time to teach slum children who can’t afford tuition. Supported by SOA, ‘Jaago’ has turned into a movement inculcating a sense of duty in the students who are stepping forward to help society.
