Odisha’s Taratarini Temple To Get Makeover

Bhubaneswar: Its official. Taratarini Temple will soon get a makeover. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday, approved the redevelopment plan of the periphery of the Shakti Peetha near Berhampur. During a meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan, he directed officials to complete the development work in time. 

A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office said, “The temple will be developed keeping in view of the Odisha style of architecture.”

Among others, Chief Advisor CMO R. Balakrishnan,  Secretary to Chief Minister (transformation & initiatives; popularly known as 5T) VK Pandian, Works Secretary KIshan Kumar and other senior officials were present.

The stage for the announcement was set on January 31, after the pre-dawn visit of VK Pandian’s visit to Jagannath Temple in Puri and Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar, to review the ongoing development work.

The redevelopment plan includes renovation of Singhadwar entrance with pilgrim amenities, pathway with drinking water facilities, hilltop temple premises development, which includes prasad sevan mandap, interpretation centre, mundan hall and a public toilet.

This apart, a meditation centre rest area, food kiosk, show stand, foot wash, waiting area, barrier free accessibility, seating benches, rest shed, watch tower, police outpost and first aid centre will be set up as per the plan.
