Bhubaneswar: Odisha Power Transmission Corporation (OPTCL) on Thursday presented its Aggregate Revenue Requirement (ARR) and determination of Transmission Tariff application for 2024-25 before OERC.
In its application during OERC hearing, OPTCL has proposed its ARR of Rs 1380.69 crore to transmit the estimated energy of 36,645 MU in its network at an average transmission charge of Rs 9042/MW-Day – 37.68 paise per unit – during 2024-25 financial year.
The OPTCL proposal came as against OERC approval of Rs 896.18 crore to transmit 37,348 MU of energy at an average transmission charge of Rs 5760/MW-Day (24 paise per unit) for 2023-24, a press release said.
Consumer counsel World Institute of Sustainable Energy (WISE), Pune analysed the tariff proposal from the viewpoints of consumers. The transmission loss for wheeling of power has been proposed at the rate of 3.05 per cent on energy drawal for 2024-25 as against 3 per cent for 2023-24, it said.
As many as 15 objectors, including Principal Secretary, Energy department, and Khandapada MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik participated in the hearing and submitted their views on the ARR application of OPTCL.
