OFDC Pays Rs 1.58 Cr Dividend To Odisha Govt For 2019-20 Fiscal

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Forest Development Corporation Ltd (OFDC) on Thursday paid a dividend of Rs 1.58 crore to the state government for 2019-20 financial year.

Managing Director of OFDC Rajiv Kumar handed over a cheque worth Rs 1,58,13,175 to chief secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra in the presence of chief minister Naveen Patnaik, according to an official press release.

The OFDC, which registered a net profit of Rs 10.54 crore after tax in the financial year,  has been earning profit for the last 15 years.

Additional chief secretary, Forest and Environment department Mona Sharma, chairman of OFDC Parag Gupta, Development Commissioner PK Jena and other senior officers were present.

The OFDC has 20 divisions across the state, 52 timber depots and 67 firewood depots. It has planted 4.81 lakh saplings in the current year, the release stated.
