[Watch] Olympics Bronze: Hockey India Skipper Thanks Odisha CM For Trust In Team
Bhubaneswar: India’s win in men’s hockey at Tokyo Olympics was also Odisha’s win for believing and supporting the players in their journey.
Soon after the win, the fans watching the match at Kalinga Stadium danced in celebration of the historic moment. On the other hand, skipper of the national hockey team Manpreet Singh expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for his support and vision for the game.
In a video message, Manpreet said Odisha Chief Minister’s support was instrumental in the boosting the team’s spirit and bagging bronze at Tokyo Olympics.
Manpreet said, “It is a special moment for us. We finally achieved the dream of achieving an Olympic medal. At a time when Cricket was popular, the Odisha CM reposed his faith in Indian Hockey and boosted our morale with all backing.”
“On this special occasion I would like to express our special thanks to Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik. The Odisha CM has supported us all through this journey. His vision and foresight for Hockey helped us achieve this remarkable feat,” Manpreet added in a video message.
