Bhubaneswar: Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has been conferred with the prestigious Golden Peacock Award for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives at the 16th International Conference on CSR.
OMC, one of the largest mining companies in India, has been rewarded for its efforts to focus on sustainable development of communities where OMC operates.
Director (Personnel) Alok Kumar Pal and Head CSR Talat Afreen received the award at the event organized by Institute of Directors (IOD) in New Delhi on June 3.
“OMC has been focusing on transforming the lives of the people living in its periphery. The organization has always gone beyond its statutory mandate of 2% in overall CSR & sustainability spend to reach out to the larger cross-section of marginalized and underprivileged segments of the society,” said OMC MD Balwant Singh.
Golden Peacock Awards, instituted by IOD in 1991, is recognized worldwide as the hallmark of corporate excellence.
