Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) on Sunday hiked milk prices across the state, increasing retail rates by Rs four per litre. The revised price came into effect from Sunday.
As per the new rates, toned milk will now cost Rs 54 per litre, up from Rs 50. Premium milk has been revised from Rs 54 to Rs 58 per litre.
Similarly, Gold Premium milk will now be sold at Rs 60 per litre, compared to the earlier Rs 56, while Gold Premium Plus milk has increased from Rs 60 to Rs 64 per litre.
Following the price hike, half-litre milk packets that earlier cost Rs 27 will now be available at Rs 29.
The price revision comes days after OMFED announced an increase in procurement rates for milk producers. Farmers will now receive Rs 39.05 per litre, up from Rs 38.05, with the revised rate effective from May 1, 2026.
The move is aimed at boosting the income of nearly three lakh dairy farmers associated with the cooperative.
OMFED officials said the hike in both procurement and retail prices was necessitated by the rising cost of inputs, including cattle feed, fodder, medicines, and other maintenance expenses.
