New Delhi: The Omicron tally in India continued to rise steadily after Kerala and Delhi added COVID-positive cases with the new variant on Monday.
Kerala reported 4 more cases, taking the state’s tally up to 15, while Delhi has recorded 24 Omicron-hit patients following 2 latest cases.
The only ray of hope is that most people who are contracting the Omicron strain of coronavirus don’t have severe symptoms and are not suffering for long.
The Delhi Health department stated that half of the Omicron-positive patients have been discharged from hospital, while the other 12 are under treatment.
Earlier in the day, Karnataka confirmed five more cases of the new variant of concern.
Maharashtra continues to lead India’s Omicron tally with 54 cases so far, followed by Delhi (24), Telangana (20), Karnataka (19), Rajasthan (17), Kerala (15) and Gujarat (11).
Meanwhile India recorded 6,563 fresh COVID-19 cases and 132 deaths in the last 24 hours. Following 8,077 recoveries, active cases in the country stands at 82,267, according to the Union Health ministry.
