Malkangiri: Tension prevailed at Kotameta village in Malkangiri after a motorcyclist died in a road mishap on Thursday morning.
Sources said the mishap took place when a speeding bus hit Damburu Bankia’s motorcycle, killing him on the spot. The bus was headed from Bhubaneswar to Malkangiri.
Irate residents blocked the road by burning tyres after the accident. They demanded compensation for the kin of the deceased.
Police later reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
