One Injured As Two Miscreants Hurl Bombs At Hotel In Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: An employee of a roadside hotel was seriously injured after two miscreants exploded bombs in Odisha’s Ganjam district on Monday.

According to sources, the miscreants came on a motorcycle to Hotel Dildar in Jagannathprasad of the district in the afternoon. They hurled two bombs at the hotel and sped away.

On the impact of the explosion of the bombs, an employee of the hotel, identified as Badal Panigrahy, was seriously injured. The other staff of the hotel rushed him to the community health centre (CHC) at Jagannathprasad. His condition was stated to be critical.

On being informed, a team from Jagannathprasad police station went to the spot and started investigation. The miscreants have not been identified as the hotel staff said they were busy serving the customers when the incident took place.

The hotel belongs to former sarpanch Debi Prasad Mohapatra. The locals suspected that political rivalry might have led his rivals to explode bombs to create panic among his supporters.
