One More BJD Leader Tests Positive For COVID-19 In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Another leader of ruling BJD tested positive for COVID-19 in the state on Tuesday.
Former MLA of Umerkote Subash Gond stated in social media that he has tested positive for the disease. He advised the people, who had come in contact with him in recently, to go for the test and keep themselves in isolation to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Gond was elected from Umerkote in Nabarangpur district in the Assembly elections in 2014, but lost to BJP’s Nityananda Gond in 2019 polls.
BJD’s Laxmipur MLA Prabhu Jani had tested COVID-19 positive on Monday. Earlier, Anandpur MLA Bhagirathi Sethy, Khandapada MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Basudevpur MLA Bishnubrata Routray, Bhubaneswar North MLA Susant Rout, Bhubaneswar Central MLA Ananta Narayan Jena, Berhampur MLA Bikram Panda, Chandbali MLA Byomakesh Ray, former Badamba MLA Debi Prasad Mishra, Pottangi MLA Pritam Padhi, Bhadrak MLA Sanjib Mallick, Bari MLA Sunanda Das, Polasara MLa Srikant Sahu, Remuna MLA Sudhanshu Shekhar Parida, Jagatsinghpur MLA Prasanta Muduli, Selapur MLA Prasant Behera tested positive for the virus.
Besides, three ministers – Susanta Singh, Arun Kumar Sahoo, Padmini Dian – and two MPs – Ramesh Majhi (Nabarangpur) and Manjulata Mandal (Bhadrak) have also been infected.
