Sambalpur: The state registered death of another COVID warrior with the latest case coming from the district.
The COVID-19 victim, identified as Petrus Tigga, was working as a constable at Rengali police station. He contracted the coronavirus a few days back while on COVID-19 duty, official source said.
The constable died while undergoing treatment at a COVID hospital on Monday. The district administration paid homage and salute to the COVID Warrior in presence of government officials on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, collector Shubham Saxena on Tuesday announced that there will be no shutdown in the district for three days on account of Independence Day and Nuakhai festival.
The district has reported 1,195 COVID-19 positive cases so far with the number of active cases being 687.
