One Of Leading Govt Hospitals In Odisha Closes OPD Service For Five Days

Sambalpur: The Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR) at Burla on Tuesday announced that its out-patient departments (OPDs) will remain closed from July 15 to 19.

The hospital authorities said the announcement was made in larger public interest and with a view to contain the spread of COVID-19.

The routine surgery will remain suspended during the period. But, Casualty and Emergency Surgery will be allowed. Only referral and emergency cases will be admitted in the hospital.

During the restriction period, all gates of the institute except the main entrance will remain closed. Police will be deployed to ensure the restrictions.

Wearing face masks on the premises will be mandatory for staff, patients and attendants.

The Fire personnel of Sambalpur in coordination with the VIMSAR authorities will sanitise the hospital premises during the period.
