According to sources, a 20-year-old youth, Munu Kumar from Ambedkar Nagar in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad, drowned while taking a bath near Chandrabhaga Eco Retreat in Konark under Chandrabhaga Marine police limits. He was swept away by strong sea waves. Marine Police and lifeguards promptly reached the spot after receiving information, rescued Munu from the water, and brought him ashore. He was rushed to the Community Health Centre at Gop, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. Munu was employed as a worker at the Eco Retreat.
In the second incident, 18-year-old Subhendu Pradhan from Jajpur district was enjoying the waves at the beach with his friends in front of Puri hotel this morning when a sudden tidal surge pulled him into deep waters.
