Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will resume in-person public grievance hearings in Bhubaneswar on January 5, 2026, following a temporary closure due to his prior commitments.
The Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell, a key initiative revived by the BJP government under Majhi after a 16-year gap, has been conducting weekly Monday sessions to bridge the gap between people and the administration. The upcoming session will commence at 10 am at the venue near Capital Nursery at Unit-2 in Ashok Nagar.
An official release said that online registrations for the grievance hearing will open at 11 am on December 31 via the Janasunani portal (janasunani.odisha.gov.in) or its dedicated mobile app. A total of 1000 people will be allowed audience with the CM on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants are required to produce their registration acknowledgement receipt, a valid personal identification document and a copy of their grievance letter at the venue.
This platform, praised for its citizen-centric approach, has resolved over 91% of complaints in recent months across multiple sessions, addressing concerns ranging from pensions and land allotments to welfare schemes.
Meanwhile, the Chief minister attended a special public grievance redressal programme in Keonjhar on Monday despite suffering from fever. Majhi stated that addressing public grievances is among his top priorities, especially since he also serves as the MLA for the constituency. He emphasised that residents from distant areas often face hardships in traveling to Bhubaneswar to voice their concerns, which underscores the importance of holding grievance redressal sessions at the district level.
