Onset Of Winter In Odisha In Two Days

Bhubaneswar: Winter will commence in Odisha from Monday, the duty officer of the Meteorological Centre here, Madan Mohan Das, said on Saturday.

Das said the state will experience mild winter in the next 48 hours. “Going by the present weather condition, the northerly wind from the Himalayan range will start to blow towards Odisha in two days resulting in the gradual fall in day and night temperatures,” he said.

Asked about the rain, he replied, “Considering the present system, there is no possibility of rainfall in most parts of Odisha. However, there will be sporadic rainfall in some parts of interior Odisha on Saturday as an associated cyclonic circulation lies over the region and its neighbourhood. However, the weather in these areas will improve from Sunday.”

He informed that the low-pressure area over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas of south Odisha and west-central Bay of Bengal has become less marked. Besides, a trough line stretches from the central Assam across Gangetic West Bengal, he added.
