Bhubaneswar: The Odisha capital has been picked for the prestigious ODF++ certificate under the Centre’s ‘Swachh Bharat’ mission.
As per the third party inspection report, areas under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) jurisdiction can be certified as Open Defecation Free++ as on December 11, 2020.
The inspection report said that schools in the city could not be inspected as those were closed due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The Odisha capital, with a population of 8,85,363, has been divided into 67 wards.
However, after the city bagged the certificate, BMC commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary thanked the citizens and other stakeholders.
