New Delhi: A day after the UPA was renamed as INDIA, Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance, the coalition of 26 opposition parties, which aims to defeat the BJP in the 2024 general election, has finalised Jeetega Bharat (India will win) as its tagline /
The final decision on Jeetega Bharat was taken after deliberations late last night and the tagline is likely to be replicated in several regional languages, PTI reported.
This assumes significance as the renaming had led to an intense INDIA versus Bharat line of attack from the BJP.
Prime Minister had slammed the opposition and coined new meaning of NDA standing for New India, Developed Nation and the Aspiration of People and Region while speaking of Bharat. After stating that BJP stands for Bharat, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma removed India from his Twitter bio and added Bharat. “The British named our country as India. We must strive to free ourselves from colonial legacies. Our forefathers fought for Bharat, and we will continue to work for Bharat,” he tweeted as the issue turned into a high-voltage social media controversy.
