Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court on Friday restrained both Anubhav Mohanty and his wife Varsha Priyadarshini from posting anything on social media against each other.
Hearing the plea filed by Varsha, the court also directed Anubhav not to post videos on social media. The next hearing on this matter has been posted for July 4.
The actress had moved the court, seeking an order to stop fake and hate campaigns against her on social media. Anubhav Mohanty, the Odisha government and the I&B Ministry were made parties in the petition.
Varsha had said that the videos being shared by the actor-turned-politician on social media platforms are defamatory and maligning her image. She alleged that false and fabricated information about her life is being circulated, and these “unpalatable statements, which are defamatory in nature and aim at character assassination”, have robbed her of the right to live with dignity.
Notably, Anubhav uploaded the fourth video, a shorter one, on his Youtube channel this morning, requesting everyone to love their parents and sharing about the new house he and his family are currently staying on rent since Varsha is occupying his parental house at Nandi Sahi in Cuttack.
He had released the first video on May 19 and the other two on May 21 and May 24 respectively. In the first video titled ‘untold story’, he promised to spill the beans about the discord with his estranged wife Varsha Priyadarshini, but only if fans gave him the permission to do so while in the second, he elaborated on the reason which forced him to file for divorce from his wife.

In the 40-minute-long video titled ‘Untold Truth Part 3’, Anubhav challenged Varsha to undergo forensic, lie detector and medical tests. He also said that he would knock on the doors of the Supreme Court, if necessary.
The actress had earlier filed a complaint with the Cyber Police, alleging that her estranged husband was trying to tarnish her image and defame her on social media, and another at Purighat police station in Cuttack, accusing him of circulating fabricated stories about her through his videos.

Anubhav filed for divorce in the Patiala House Court in New Delhi in July 2020. This was revealed after Varsha filed a case of domestic violence at the Cuttack Sub-divisional Judicial Magistrate (SJDM) court on August 7, 2020, accusing the actor of torturing her physically and mentally.
The SDJM has concluded the hearing on the domestic violence case and reserved its verdict. In his plea, Anubhav had suggested Varsha to leave his parental house and assured her that he would provide her with better accommodation.
