Orphan Girl Child From Odisha’s Sambalpur Gets New Home In Finland
Sambalpur: An orphan girl child in Odisha’s Sambalpur has got a new lease of life as she was adopted by a Finnish woman.
The child, named Khushi, was staying at a child care institution in Sambalpur after the death of her parents. Now she is all set to fly to Finland after the woman, identified as Laura Alena, adopted her completing all legal formalities, sources said.
She has officially been adopted by the Finnish national. The child was handed over to her adopting mother after the completion of all the legal documentation as per the International Adoption procedure.
District Collector Ananya Das handed over the child to Laura in a simple ceremony held at Sambalpur on Thursday in the presence of Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) Suresh Chandra Dalai . The Collector also extended her best wishes to Khushi.
Present on the occasion were Additional Collector Umakant Raj, Deputy Collectors Mitali Madhusmita Dalei and Lopamudra Kalo and District Child Welfare Officer Suchismita Patnaik.
Khushi will now travel to Finland and pursue her education and new life.
