Orry Calls Sara Ali Khan a ‘Fake Friend’, Says She Disappeared When He Needed Her

Mumbai: Social media personality Orry, aka Orhan Awatramani, has opened up about his fallout with actor Sara Ali Khan, calling her a ‘fake friend’ and claiming that she disappeared when he needed her support.

In a conversation with Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi on their show Double Date, Orry also alleged that Sara’s mother, Amrita Singh, hurled abuses at him and never apologised.

When Neha asked Orry to name the most famous person he had unfollowed on social media, he named Sara Ali Khan.

Asked why, he said, “I’m very public about it. Her mother scolded me a lot, so I unfollowed her too.”

Reflecting on their friendship, Orry explained why he felt let down by Sara.

He said, “There are fake friendships. This girl was my childhood friend. We were friends through college and then even 10 years after college. I was there for her through so much. We were in Goa when she got into a big case. I stood by her through all of that, never left her side. But for one time in life when she had to be there for me, she disappeared.”

He added, “In that moment, it was such a tough phase for me, and she didn’t check on me once or call me once. I was like, when your life was under fire, and everyone told me to leave her side and not get caught up, I stood by her side. I took care of you, your mother and your brother and stood by them. And when the tables flipped, and you had to be there with me for once, you couldn’t even give me a phone call. I just thought if I pretended to be friends with you, then whatever you did and whatever abuses your mother threw at me and said about me to others, it made that okay. And it’s not okay, and I never got an apology after that.”

Orry and Sara reportedly fell out in August 2025 after he shared pictures of the actor on her birthday that some social media users deemed unflattering.

The rift gained further attention when Orry posted a reel titled “3 worst names”, mentioning “Sara”, “Amrita” and “Palak”.

Soon after, Sara and her brother Ibrahim unfollowed him on Instagram. Orry also took a dig at Sara’s acting career during a social media exchange.

Orry had previously addressed the fallout in a January 2026 interview with Hindustan Times.

He said their friendship could only move forward if he did not have to overlook what he claimed Amrita Singh had put him through. He also suggested that an apology from her could potentially change things.

“If Amrita Singh were to apologise, I could maybe see myself letting it go in the future,” he had said.
